Since COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020, I started my quarantine life. Stuck in my apartment, I became more active in several screens rather than real life space.
Meanwhile, the game “Animal Crossing” started getting viral in my community. Inspired by many emerging virtural ideas, I did a desktop performance for a simulation of my early quarantine life when I was confused about my online identity.
As a Chinese living in the United States, I had some complicated feelings for all the national and global tragedies happened in the past year. The use of emoji and icon stands for my constant fear of lack of identity.
