previous study: orange cone
The book tells a typical love story about one girl (as the
stalker) and one, but not the only, construction cone (as the imaginary lover). Inspired by a dream she had, she started
the search for her lover in the city. Aimlessly, she wandered
alone on the empty streets. She was getting closer and closer. It seemed like they had been to many places. Then she became intoxicated. She could not recognize her lover. She was getting
even closer. Suddenly, she wakes up to a peaceful morning and foggy memories.
Is that true?
Always related to the mundane image of abandoned objects and barren urban landscape, the neon orange cones are perfect to illustrate this creepy love story in the city. Without
many identities, cones could be the anonymous ones sought by people longing for romantic relationship in the city. When I started looking at the cones, I felt myself projected on them. I realized that such projection could also represent a type of romantic relationship.
